title: Use the Community Forum
description: Ask a question in Community and moderate questions and answers across your organization in Edvello.
---

This guide covers asking a question in Community and moderating what gets posted there. For what Community is and how it differs from a course's Newsfeed, see [Community](/reference/community).

## Asking a question

### 1. Open Community

From the sidebar, click **Community**.

### 2. Start a question

Click **Ask Community**. This opens the ask page.

### 3. Fill in the question

Enter a title and the question body. Optionally pick a course from the dropdown to tie the question to it, so students in that course can find it more easily.

### 4. Publish

Click **Publish**. The question is immediately visible to your org, and other members can answer, comment, and vote on it.

## Moderating questions

Moderation in Community comes down to deleting and, for your own posts, editing:

- **Deleting** — an admin can delete any question or any answer/comment, using the trash icon next to it and confirming in the dialog that follows. Authors can delete their own question or their own comments the same way.
- **Editing** — only the original author can edit a question, using the **Edit** button at the top of the question page (it switches the title, body, and course link into an editable form; click **Save** to update or **Cancel** to discard). This doesn't extend to comments and answers, which can only be deleted, not edited. It also doesn't extend to admins editing someone else's question: admins can delete another member's post, not edit it.

There's no separate report or flag action in Community. Moderation is limited to the delete and edit behavior described above.
